Lessons learned through faith; don’t talk about it. Be about it.
Years ago, as the senior HR executive in a community nonprofit, a colleague commented on my “quiet, steadfast faith,” as she described it, demonstrated to her by the cross I wore around my neck. Except that I never wore a cross at work.
While I might discuss my faith in intimate conversations, I was steadfast about creating an open environment where people would not experience any “chilling effect” because of what they perceived I might represent. I wanted my faith to be an open door, not a barrier to entry. That’s how I understood the way that Jesus walked.
Speak quietly. Live loud.
This is my prayer.
