Morning Devotional 11.18.2025

“People were bringing children to him in order that he might touch them, and the disciples spoke sternly to them. But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭NRSVUE‬‬

Wonder. Optimism. Hopefulness. Remember what living a life of wonder felt like? I remember the safety I felt in my mother’s embrace, even as she was frail and losing her battle with Alzheimer’s. She never gave up, and she never stopped being my safe harbor…
No matter how strong, wise, or sophisticated we consider ourselves to be, there is the blessing of childlike wonder and awe that we must never forget.
We are held.
We are sheltered.
We are treasured.
We are safe.
Thanks be to God.
