“I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.”
Psalms 18:1-3 NLT
Sometimes the enemy is me. Yeah, I said it. Sometimes I forget that the power is not mine, and then I worry. I am afraid. I try to carry things that were never mine to carry, and I know better. I am flawed, frail, and in Jill Scott’s words, “beautifully human.”
Yet, God dwells with us.
Continually.
Unceasingly.
Eternally.
And in my praying, I am self-forgiving, soothed, and reminded of the effusive goodness of God.
