I run to the rock. When I was a child, I had parents, grandparents, a big brother, legions of aunts, unclrs, and cousins, and an entire community looking at, and looking out for me. Add in classmates, colleagues, and SQUAD, and I was never alone when I was in need. Then I got married, and My Beloved became my world.
And now he is gone, along with most of the protections I always thought I had.
I have, in fact, never been alone and without protection.
For all of our lives, God has been Our Strong Tower. My elders knew, and I am grateful to be reminded. We run to the Rock, and we are saved. Beloved, I will always miss you, but I am safe.
