“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:10-11 NLT
When reading this encouragement to the fellowship at Ephesus, I am reminded of watching my beloved Granny get dressed. She was elegant, meticulous, and breathtaking. My nieces tease me often about being her doppelgänger and successor, and that is not something I take lightly.
When dressing. She would put on her whole armor. Foundation garments, moisturizer, fragrances in layers, accessories carefully chosen not only for look, but what they might invoke in her, or in others everything she would need to stand firm. This was how she approached life, a Life of Faith.
I aspire to be like her, walking into each day laced into God’s Armour, enfolded.
Knowing I am held, sheltered, and able to stand firm.
Lord, hear my prayers.
