Paraphrasing Kierkegaard, we live our lives forward, but they can only be understood backwards. Looking back to conversations with My Beloved in our last days together, he was saying goodbye, assuring me of his love, and telling me that he knew I’d be alright. I didn’t recognize it at the time, but he was preparing me to go forward. Loved. Protected.
He was saying “fare thee well .”
All shall be well again, in time.
