“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
Psalms 143:8 NIV
Yesterday was A LOT. All my life I have managed whatever comes my way. It’s a mistake. I learned to practice low-maintenance and accommodation in order to earn love and praise, never asking for much. I never imagined“unfailing love,” but God.
When I reached the end of my capacity yesterday, God was there. At my point of shattering beyond repair, God appeared. Like God always does.
Paraphrasing one of my favorite prayers,
“We do not presume to come to You, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in your abundant and great mercies.
We are not worthy so much as to gather up
the crumbs under Your table;
but you are the same Lord whose character is always to have mercy.
Grant therefore, gracious Lord, that we may evermore dwell in You, and You in us. Amen.”
Trust God, particularly when it seems most unlikely.
That’s the tea.
Thanks be to God.
