“So how can they call on someone they don’t have faith in? And how can they have faith in someone they haven’t heard of? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the good news.””
Romans 10:14-15 CEB
“how beautiful are the feet” appears in both the Old and New Testaments. It ain’t about your pedicure (or mine). In ancient times (and today), feet were dusty, tired, and mostly unappealing. “Beauty” is metaphorical—referring to the joy, comfort, and value of the message rather than your/my crying dogs.
This scripture honors the journey, and the commitment. It calls us to purpose over appearance, encouraging our willingness to take deliberate steps to spread love, encouragement, and salvation to those who thirst for hope.
Strap up your sandals, sneakers, bare feet, and commit to serve and be the voice in the wilderness, and everywhere else.
Those dawgs will take care of themselves.
Thanks be to God.
