Morning Devotional 7.3.26

โ€œPursue peace with everyone and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God, that no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble and through it many become defiled.โ€
โ€ญโ€ญHebrewsโ€ฌ โ€ญ12โ€ฌ:โ€ญ14โ€ฌ-โ€ญ15โ€ฌ โ€ญNRSVUEโ€ฌโ€ฌ

Grace and peace. We say it, but do we practice it??

โ€œPursue peace with everyone.โ€ The Word does not tell us that conflicts will not arise. Nelson Mandela, whose life reflected lessons learned after generations of conflict taught us that “Peace is not just the absence of conflict; peace is the creation of an environment where all can flourish regardless of race, colour, creed, religionโ€ฆ”

And of Grace? Rev. Dr. Martin Luthier King, Jr.โ€™s daughter Rev. Bernice King taught us that Grace,
“inserts a sense of sanity and morality into our very troubling climate right now.”

Our country and our world are consumed by conflict and dissension. How are people of faith leading with Grace and Peace in every interaction?
Sound off. Comment. Please let me know.

May God guide us all, and may we speak and walk gently through our days.
Lord, in Your Mercy, hear our prayers.
