I’m returning to habits and practices that build consistency. These are my weekly confessions:
Start with a clean slate. Better out than in, and away we go. However, hyper-independence is a trauma response. The simple act of letting go of and asking for help, even the commitment to do better, is a mitzvah. Philippians 4:13 teaches “I can do all things through [a]Christ who strengthens me.” But just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.
Dying to your manufactured self-image and desires is painful and unpleasant but remember, you said that was what you wanted. Ponder this….what if God never changes the things YOU think God should be working on (like you actually get a vote…) Could that be because God gave you free will so that you could be your own agent of change?
2022 exposed me as brittle and fragile, always too proud to reach for many outstretched hands. It will take time to restore the temple I have carelessly assaulted. Things I’m Ready for by Fleur de Tiff
